Bears to Bucs is a guaranteed admissions program that takes the stress out of transferring.

Start your journey at Northeast State Community College, build your foundation, earn an associate degree, and seamlessly continue at East Tennessee State University.

Benefits of the Guaranteed Admissions Program include:

✅Access to ETSU resources, campus events, and a support network as a Northeast State Student
✅Support from Northeast State and ETSU each semester, making the transfer process easier
✅Receive an ETSU student ID and guaranteed admission to specified activities and services*
✅Waived Application Fee
✅Guaranteed admission to ETSU* upon completion of an associate's degree (A.A., A.S., or A.S.T)
*Guaranteed admission applies to general admission to the university. This program does not guarantee acceptance into selective academic programs requiring a separate application or that have additional admission criteria.*

Eligibility for the Guaranteed Admissions Program:

✅Plans to pursue both an associate's degree and bachelor's degree
✅Meets Northeast State admission criteria
✅Meets current admission criteria for ETSU after completion of program from Northeast State
✅Enters Northeast State under the 2004 or later catalog
✅Must complete an application for Guaranteed Admission
✅Must graduate with an associate degree (A.A., A.S., or A.S.T) from Northeast State
✅Plan to enroll at ETSU starting with the Spring 2028 term or after.
*Other requirements may apply; students can discuss the full eligibility requirements with an advisor at either institution.*

By signing and agreeing to participate in the Bears to Bucs Guaranteed Admissions Program, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to the terms and conditions of the program. I understand that participation in the program requires me to meet and maintain all eligibility requirements established by Northeast State Community College and East Tennessee State University. By participating in the program, I authorize the sharing and submission of my academic records, including transcripts and other information necessary to facilitate the admissions process and evaluation of transfer work between Northeast State Community College and East Tennessee State University.
I also authorize the sharing of information provided through my participation in the program, including contact information and demographic information, for purposes related to program administration, communication, admissions, enrollment, and student support. I understand that participation in the Bears to Bucs Guaranteed Admissions Program does not guarantee admission to selective academic programs that require a separate application or have additional admission requirements.
I understand that I am responsible for meeting and maintaining the requirements of the program in order to remain eligible for guaranteed admission. I acknowledge that failure to meet these requirements may result in the loss of my guaranteed admission eligibility. If I choose to withdraw from the Bears to Bucs Guaranteed Admissions Program at any time, I understand that I must submit a written request to Northeast State Community College indicating my desire to withdraw from the program.
